Benefits of ART simplification on adherence, clinical and economic outcomes

چکیده
Methods The unit analysis was a person-regimen of 2 NRTI (NNRTI, PI/r) lasting ]90 days. Adherence was measured by the proportion of days covered using pharmacy refill data. The Wilcoxon rank-sum test was used to compare CNA, PNA and total non-adherence (TNA) in the following groups: STR vs its components (EFV TDF/FTC) and non-FDC vs FDC vs STR. The level of adherence per group and the impact of PNA and CNA on virological failure (VF) were estimated using multivariate regression panel data models (MVRPDM). Control variables included age, gender, hepatitis co-infection, cumulative comorbidity score, CD4, viral load, regimen duration and calendar year. MVRPDM we also used to access the impact of PNA-free regimens on the probability of at least one hospitalization and on annualized hospitalization ART costs. The analysis was performed in Stata 11†.

Twice-daily versus once-daily antiretroviral therapy and coformulation strategies in HIV-infected adults: benefits, risks, or burden?
The recent development of once-daily antiretroviral agents and fixed-dose combination formulations has been an important development in antiretroviral regimen simplification. Recent studies indicate that once-daily antiretroviral regimens improve adherence, especially in antiretroviral-naïve patients and in difficult-to-treat populations, such as the homeless or marginally housed. However, ther...
متن کاملInterventions for adherence with oral chemotherapy in hematological malignancies: A systematic review.
BACKGROUND Poor adherence to treatment for chronic diseases including some hematological malignancies impedes health outcomes and increases costs. Oral chemotherapy is an emerging trend that raises concern about nonadherence problems in these targeted patients. OBJECTIVES This systematic literature review explores evidence and gaps in the literature regarding interventions to enhance adherenc...
متن کاملDietary Patterns and The Outcomes of Assisted Reproductive Techniques in Women with Primary Infertility: A Prospective Cohort Study
Objective Infertility is one of the most common challenges that women of reproductive age would encounter today. The maternal nutritional status is a particularly important determinant of oocyte quality and embryonic growth. Studies on whether the overall diet can affect reproductive outcomes in infertile women are few. So this study was conducted to assess the relationship between dietary patt...
متن کاملThe clinical and economic burden of non-adherence with oral bisphosphonates in osteoporotic patients.
OBJECTIVES This study aims to estimate the clinical and economic burden of non-adherence with oral bisphosphonates in osteoporotic patients and the potential cost-effectiveness of adherence-enhancing interventions. METHODS A validated Markov microsimulation model estimated costs and outcomes (i.e. the number of fractures and the quality-adjusted life-year (QALY)) for three adherence scenarios...
متن کاملP-75: Role of Anti-Mullerian Hormone in Prediction of Assisted Reproductive Technology Outcomes
Background: Anti-Mullerian hormone (AMH) has been suggested as a marker of ovarian reserve and predictor of ovarian response to controlled ovarian hyper stimulation. The aim of this study is to determine the role of AMH in prediction of success ART cycles in patients with normal FSH serum levels. Materials and Methods: This prospective cohort study included 80 infertile women under 4o years, wh...
